Records Update - Dec 2023

Here are the changes for this update:

General Stuff

Increased the max timeout for server requests, so that when the free service I use to host my backends is on cooldown and takes a little longer to load, it will still succeed.

Added a text at the top of the settings page when you’re logged in. Don’t know why I didn’t do it before. It’s very basic to let users know what account they’re connected to.

Records

Starting from this version, every time you finish a test or review session, your time will be sent to a server to be stored. The server will store your highest scores per day per session type (ie. One time for the normal test and once for the review). It’s kind of hard to explain it in simple terms, good things there a website for that!

Yes! There’s now a website to show the records of all the users on a certain day, or of all the records of a certain user.

You can use it to compare your speed to others, or just keep track of how fast you’ve been getting with your answers. Obviously in learning faster DOES NOT equal better, but I just thought it would be a cool idea to implement.

The website will now also hold the list of topics per JLPT level, and have a contact me page(of course you could always comment on any of my itch.io posts/games and I’ll still see it).

I might expand on the website later, maybe move my changelogs there, we’ll see. 

You can get to the website through the app by pressing the podium icon on the main menu, next to the tutorial icon.
